Returning Students

Yesterday, in each of my morning classes, students from our former location returned to us. One of them we hadn’t seen since the initial closing of our society in Spring 2020. The other one made his first return to one of Bob’s classes last week.

The surprise and joy at having them attend my classes brought me into compassion at what we went through. Isolation, fear and judgment all fell away into acceptance, safety and togetherness. The ritual of yoga practice dissolved the years.

What benefits do you experience from the ritual of yoga practice? Can you welcome it’s healing not just for yourself, but for society at large? Ki to Happiness heals from the nearest personal issues to the farthest global schisms with Hatha Yoga.

Begin again

This morning began with the stress of loud voices coming from outside. The cats alerted me to the need to deal with it. I opened our door and found the source of their discomfort and made the trespassers depart.

In distress, the cats didn’t eat. I decided that we needed to begin again. So I restarted my day, made my bed, got into my practices, and soon they came around, looking for breakfast.

When stress hits, how quickly can you calm down? Can you stop it before it derails you and begin again? Ki to Happiness begins again and again.

Stand still

For the last week I’ve been dealing with a little rib misalignment. After several attempts at realignment, last night I felt it shift back to where it belongs. It brought me to gratitude, relief and awareness of my blessed good fortune.

I stood still and allowed my body to integrate. I witnessed the release of the necessary compensatory musculoskeletal protection of the area. Awe and Ah replaced aggravation and annoyance.

Have you marveled at your body’s natural ability to heal? What brings you to a stand still? Ki to Happiness stands still and gives thanks.
