Celebrate Progress

After working with my administrative assistant yesterday on the sixth revision of my manuscript, I celebrated. Small, private victories deserve the right kind of acknowledgment. Vegan soft tacos and frozen nondairy ice cream enjoyed on our sunny deck felt like the perfect dinner for one before a little walk in the woods.

My evening yoga practice continued the celebration. I felt the freedom and strength of my healthy body together with the calm balanced emotions that come with mental clarity. My spiritual guidance told me “yes” which I interpreted as “good enough for now.”

Any progress you need to celebrate? what’s the best way to acknowledge the small victories? Ki to Happiness celebrates each step on the path that is good enough.

Collateral Benefit

In teaching my beginners class last night, I became acutely aware that the decades of teaching and practicing have benefited me. As class ended, students expressed their appreciation for my teaching skills. Then one of them asked how much I teach.

When I answered, she said “no wonder you’re so strong..” Another asked for how long I’ve been teaching. When I answered, she said “ so that’s how you got to be so patient”.

What collateral benefits do you find in your occupation? What collateral benefits do you receive from your spiritual practice? Ki to Happiness has grown strong and patient through teaching and practicing Hatha Yoga.

Fresh air

Canadian wildfires are creating polluted air for much of the USA. The air quality in the Pacific Northwest is good. I remember other years when we had smoky air and we may again, which makes me appreciate our fresh air now.

In my first trip to India, I choked in the dense pollution. I found it hard to believe that yoga had its origins in a place where it was harmful to breathe. Today, my pranayama practice is enhanced by gratitude for the fresh air.

How is your air quality? Is it safe for you to practice yoga? Ki to Happiness is grateful for fresh air.

Go fund her

I have a dear lifelong friend, who’s amazing daughter Kelsey Piper McCoy is fulfilling, her dream of becoming a large animal veterinarian. I have watched this little one grow into a beautiful, smart, and helpful young adult. As she is on an African internship, she could use an influx of funds to offset the cost.

I am happy to contribute, as is my brother and mother. I shared the link with you, dear readers, in case you have an abundance and a desire to contribute. Your generosity could make all the difference in her ability to realize her dream. https://gofund.me/555cb9a8

How do you contribute to the future? Would you like to help make a young woman’s dream come true? Ki to Happiness gives generously and receives 1000 x what she offers.

Working together

During Bob’s second class yesterday, we wanted to use the barre. As more students arrived than could fit comfortably, I made a space at our kitchen counter to accommodate. All fit well,

Later, we worked together to clean the deck from the maple tree debris. We swept and picked up and then mopped and watered the plants. Working together, all is well.

Do you work well with others? Can you make the best of your skill set and let them do the same? Ki to Happiness enjoys working together.

Hot Lemon Water

As Bob watched a sporting event last evening, I had time on my hands. I had several choices of what to do with my time. I chose to drink, hot lemon water, and sit on our deck.

This morning, I especially appreciate that choice among many. It’s simple cleansing effect leads to a beautiful early morning practice. I am awaken well rested, refreshed, and ready for a beautiful Sunday.

How do you feel about your choices of late? What do you the results of your choices inform you about any needed refinements? Ki to Happiness examines the results of choices for fine tuning.

Double date

In celebration of summer solstice, we got together with two long standing members of our community. They have been instrumental in finding this location for Hatha Yoga Center and safeguarding our transition here. We planned this outing long ago, and the gorgeous weather allowed us to enjoy a bike ride, and burritos at the beach.

On our way back, we explored an alternate route to avoid the traffic and construction of our nearby interstate interchange. Bob and I had attended the opening of a nearby bike route when we first moved here before we had bikes. That information came in handy as we were able to locate it and rode safely home to our hungry cats.

When’s the last time you had a double date? How will you celebrate this first summer weekend? Ki to Happiness delights in remembering this first double date in decades.

Giving love

Each morning, as I sit in meditation, I give my attention to my breath, posture and the Everlasting. This is loving. I finish in prayer, expressing my gratitude and asking for any needs to be met.

I go about my day and give the same steady attention to my students and clients, my husband and our cats, our home and yoga studio. This is loving. At the end of the day, all the love I have given, I receive.

What love are you needing? Can you give that love? Ki to Happiness gives love- that’s what it’s for, and in doing so receives love in the process.

Clear skies

We won’t need the heat today. Clear skies promise a gorgeous day in the mid 70s. We will be able to enjoy it as we conduct classes with windows open, have smoothies on our deck and take a nice walk.

June’s gloom has departed just in time for summer. We may even find our way to use our railing as a barre like we did last year when we first moved here. Perfect weather in Seattle gives us a chance to sleep inside, but live outside.

How much time do you spend outdoors? Are you able to take advantage of a day with clear skies? Ki to Happiness relaxes and replenishes resources in nature.

Welcome Summer

On today’s summer solstice, we shift out of the Spring and all of its promise. As we welcome the season, we do well to count our blessings. This simple spiritual practice invites more to be grateful for through our vibration.

I am peaceful, healthy and happy. I am thankful for many blessings, skills, talents and gifts to live the life I have been guided to from my Higher Self. All the seeds that I have planted in the soil of my intentions have flowered and will fruit with right conditions.

What blessings have come your way this spring? Can you just imagine them growing all through the summer? Ki to Happiness wishes you all a Happy Summer Solstice.
