In this unhealthy air, we continue to slowly reopen, with lots of time staying home and healthy. The several levels of challenge that we’ve all been facing have been a true test of our ability to remain patient and perseverant.

Meanwhile, the hackers, scammers, and snakes have been very busy attempting to capitalize on our vulnerabilities. The additional challenge of continuing to see through to the true motives took me to my edge yesterday. Fortunately, I found my way back. To breathing. To peace.To the innate state of happiness to which we all have equal access.

New moon in Virgo

Today’s new moon is in Virgo. This gives us an opportunity to release the last lunar cycle, and set intentions clearly for safely reopening, as we stay healthy. Virgo’s discernment will assist.

Daily refinement is supported through the yoga practice. Removing toxins, debris, stressors and recycling those energies into evolution and lessons connects us with our Higher Self. Establishing this habit well keeps us moving forward even during this time of calamity.

What is the highest possibility you see you coming from all of this? How able are you to discern what is best for you? Ki to Happiness invokes St. Hildegard of Bingen to show us the way to live creatively under any circumstance.

Letting go of physical objects that are no longer valuable, cleaning, and releasing on all levels may set the stage for newness. Yoga offers us practices that help today, and everyday.

Rains return

Our smoky and polluted air is getting its face washed. Rains returned in the night and will be effecting our area for days. Air quality is awful, still. Best to continue with conservative measures, even as we proceed toward safely reopening.

Any major cleaning project often makes a mess first. When the body is needing to rid it self of toxins, sometimes there are symptoms. If a garment has become stained, stain removing generally makes the stain bigger, initially. Living in a home when it is being remodeled generally creates disorder, then improvement. So it is with the air.

Have you seen this pattern before? Break down before breakthrough? Worsening as an indication of progress? Ki to Happiness aligns with natural patterns.

Skin deep

Staying home and staying healthy even as we slowly reopen has gifted me with a new tool. Lymphatic drainage assists in removing the debris from our system, facilitating nature. I posted a brief video of using cool green tea bags to massage lightly as directed in the flow of the lymph.

Beauty is not just skin deep. The skin is the outer representative of how the lungs are doing within. Skin brushing also helps move the lymph and cleanses the lungs. In today’s meditation, I will demonstrate that as well. Fortunately, yoga practices assist in lymph movement, also.

Shut in

Our safe reopening continues during the firestorms. With all the window shut, and the air purifier on, classes continue. Safe practices are offered, and encouraged.

Snow days, spending summers on our Canadian island, living through three level five hurricanes on Kauai and Guam, as well as sicknesses and injuries of the past have a prepared me for this time of being shut in. My introverted partner happily watches sports as we get along, together, with different strategies.

What has prepared you for this time? How well are others in your household doing? Ki to Happiness is grateful for the lessons from the past.

Laying Low

Safely starting to re-open businesses in this polluted air, we take a step back, towards staying home and staying healthy. I notice our three cats, all finding cubbies into which they are able to stay quiet. Close to the ground. With the air as clean and filtered as possible.

I love witnessing their natural adjustment. Nobody has to tell them to lay low. They simply follow innate guidance. I am happy to follow their lead, adjusting and adapting practices and habits to meet this present need.

Healing is contagious

In our smoke filled environment, we persist in slowly reopening. On my main street through campus town, other businesses are closing. On the other side of the planet, our son is still unable to return to us, despite his having had a terrible motorcycle accident which resulted in a couple of broken bones.

His dad’s belly was in knots. After successful surgery, and being released from the hospital, much healing is going on. In the improved quality of his voice on the phone, belly knots softened. Our bonds deepen.
