During the Mariners’ playoff baseball game, I left Bob glued to the TV and walked away into the gorgeous clear autumn day to run an errand. I felt inspired in the fresh air and sunshine to continue on and leave our district for the first time since moving here 2 1/2 months ago. I got on the bus and returned to my old stomping grounds for a couple of supplies.
I returned with my bags full of necessities to find two painters on our deck prepping the railing for a fresh coat and a new student, tool box in hand, ready to fix a leaky door. This happy surprise gave me the feeling I was being rewarded for my willingness to leave. A sense of community and cooperation results as well as a draft free door, appreciation for our new owners tending to this property, and the stuff I needed.
Are you willing to walk away? Can you allow others help? Ki to Happiness walks away and returns refreshed, reinforced and ready.
