Collecting Myself

Yesterday‘s birthday walk with my dear friend turned into a gift for me, too. As walked the familiar path in the woods by my old neighborhood, I collected bits of myself I’d left behind. Stitching them back together, I feel more myself.

In our haste to move 3 miles north three years ago, I let go of those woods and my daily walks to my secret spot and favorite tree. Like old friends reuniting, it felt like no time had passed since we were last together. I plan to visit myself there more often, facilitating my healing and wholing from the hasty move.

What parts of yourself have you left behind in haste? What would help you collect those parts for your wholeness? Ki to Happiness walks the old path and remembers herself to the trees and secret spots in the woods.

Website and Blog

This blog is hosted by my website. I appreciate the opportunity to exercise my right to free speech in this way. I encourage all readers to do the same, if desirable.

I am also free to breathe well and align my posture in yoga practices. As I face the issues in my life, I find it helpful to do so on a regular and consistent basis. I also encourage readers to do the same, in your own way.

What are your outlets for freedom of speech? What helps you face the issues in your life? Ki to Happiness encourages you to find the right outlets and practices that serve your Higher Self.

Worship Treatment

I had my final treatment with my beloved Ayurvedic physician before he moves. Our intention was to integrate all our efforts of the past year. He began with chanting mantra as the herb infused oil warmed.

He anointed me with the oil. Body, mind, emotion and spirit came together in the sacred space. As we concluded, he pronounced it a treatment of worship.

What do you worship? Who has worshiped you? Ki yo Happiness worships treatments and practices that unite us with the One.

Vision and Sight

In my meditations, I often have visions. Colors, lights, images can occur without external stimulation. Eyesight I’ve worked on with yogic practices to keep it clear and sharp also so I can see with external stimulation.

It’s important to not confuse the two. Yesterday my eye exam revealed that I’m doing well with both aspects of “seeing”. I “see” myself recommitting to my yoga practices to continue remaining free from unnecessary corrections.

How is your eyesight? What about your vision? Ki to Happiness sees the Light, within and without.

Mercury Retrograde Power

During my second class last night, we lost power. I continued teaching in the heat as the light faded from outside. When class ended, I made all the changes I learned last time we lost power to insure my ability to meet my responsibilities today.

As I got ready to turn in, the power came back on. Just then I remembered the planet Mercury is entering its retrograde phase. I appreciate the chance to review and reflect on all I’ve learned since last power outage.

What do you require in order to meet responsibilities? What will benefit from your reflection and review during the next three weeks? Ki to Happiness enjoys reviewing progress toward streamlining needs.

Crow Posture

In this hot weather, our posture of the year, Crow, is less desirable than usual. Arm balances heat the body and mostly students want to cool down in these temperatures. I proposed Crow Beak breathing as an alternative in last night’s class.

The students appreciated the practice, learning how to breathe through their mouth with their tongue exposed to the air. Some students avoided crow posture while others combined it with the breathing technique. Hatha Yoga always has variations for everyone and all circumstances.

Can you vary your practices as necessary? Which tools may serve you today? Ki to Happiness keeps practicing with variations thru all circumstances.

Mom’s Birthday

Today I celebrate my mother‘s birthday. She got her card and her gift already. We will talk later after our brief morning text.

Last year we took a special trip to St. Louis together on her day. I couldn’t get away this year to be with her right now, but I will be there soon. We are blessed to have healed our relationship so long ago that many have benefited and will continue to as we recover, uncover and discover our unconditional love for each other and life, itself.

How to you honor your mother? What needs to be healed for you to allow unconditional love to flow between you? Ki to Happiness shares the blessing of her mother’s life and love.

Sunny Sunday

Bob and I took our bikes up to our near park for a little sun and shade as we viewed Mount Rainier. As we got settled, I heard from my brother that he was ready for our FaceTime chat with mom for her birthday. They had just returned from lunch and a movie,

Today, her birthday gift and card should arrive on time for her special day tomorrow. She and I will share our private FaceTime call then. I’m glad we all had a chance to be together if at a distance in celebration of my mother‘s long and healthy life.

Are you enjoying the simple pleasures of summer? Can you share some of that with those who are far away? Ki to Happiness shares our blessings with those near and far.

Lap Cats

Our cats are letting us know that they are doing really well by getting on our laps again. Slow and steady healing has brought them back from their issues. The reward is worth the effort, the time, and the expense.

They are almost 7 years old now. We are forever blessed to have had them with us all this time. They are true community members and are cherished by many of our students.

Do you care for animals? What have you learned from them? Ki to Happiness learned to get up on Divine Kitty’s lap and purr.

Transplanted Protection

Awaiting the arrival of an old friend of ours, I transplanted some Archangel Michael. Now we have its protective foliage on both ends of our entry ramp. It’s hardy and will spread its benevolence all along our sidewalk.

Our friend brought his 60 pound rescue puppy with him. Our cats stayed safely inside as we sat outside on our deck. Archangel Michael seemed to take the transplant well enough to get right on the job so our visit ended well without incident.

What kind of protection do you need? How easily can you move it to where it will be most effective? Ki to Happiness transplants protection as directed by Higher Guidance.
