One year of Healing

Last year on this date while preparing to teach class, I fell and broke my left wrist. It has healed now and I have learned a great deal in the process. On the practical level, I learned to stop carrying too much in my hands at the same time, which is related to a lifelong pattern of doing too much.

Beyond that, I also learned that in my neighborhood I have tremendous helpers, including my chiropractor, acupuncturist, and Ayurvedic physician. I also learned I have great support and back up from those who covered my classes when I was unable, including Bob Smith, Chris List, Kelly Kalac and Karen Bullard. In these ways, I am grateful for the injury as it has helped me evolve and grow on many levels.

Do you have a tendency to do too much? Who might help you so you don’t have to learn the hard way? Ki to Happiness heals and learns from mistakes, growing evermore grateful.

Prepared and Grateful

Amidst the classes and clients yesterday, I did all I could to prepare for last night’s second bomb cyclone this season. With assistance, I got all the back up battery chargers charged up so they could keep us with some power for our devices. I awakened early to see our outdoor lights shining, indicating our power is still on.

Gratitude washed over my body as I fed the cats and sat into my practice. I spread my gratitude out to those who assisted me. On the backside of this storm, we’ve had gusts to 50 mph and a couple of heavy squalls, following thunder and lightning.

How can you best prepare for the storms in your life? When the storm has passed, even though another one may be on its way, can you express gratitude to those who’ve assisted you? Ki ti Happiness expresses gratitude for those who’ve assisted in preparation.

Rumi’s Wedding Day

The great poet Rumi is celebrated on this day. It’s referred to as his wedding day as it is believed that in death he married his beloved, Shams, who predeceased him in death. Their lives and love still inspire us since the 13th century.

As I read some of his poems, my own poet’s heart reawakens. In love and safety, we are moved to creative expression. I will read some of his works in my evening class and perhaps share some of my poetry as well.

What moves you to creative expression? How safe and loved do you feel? Ki to Happiness gives love from the safety of yoga practices.

Mercury direct

With the full moon behind us and Mercury direct, there is potential for improved communications, electronics, and travel. This is a great early Christmas gift to ease the way for our celebrations. Making use of what has been revealed during the full moon, we have an opportunity to make changes in how we proceed.

Traditions may be upgraded. Healthier choices are recommended. Gratitude for all that we’ve learned may invite us to slow down and behold the preciousness of each moment.

What would you like to communicate? How can you best make use of the swifter electronics and transportation possibilities? Ki to Happiness enjoys the blessings of this cold, dark time of year.

Full Cold Moon

Today’s full moon brought with it another atmospheric river. The wind and rain threatened our power, yet it held. One trespasser interfered with our peaceful classes, but the community persevered.

In the aftermath of the storm, all is fresh and illuminated in the moon’s light. We have an invitation to reflect on all this year has been, especially with Mercury and Mars retrograde. In doing so, there’s a chance to end this year well with course corrections before the New Year.

What is being reflected to you on this full moon? How does that inform any changes for happy holidays and a good start to the new year? Ki to Happiness sees the reflection of power remaining and our community’s perseverance increasing faith, hope and love for 2025.

Receiving Amends

I received contact from a former client. She took care of her outstanding account after making amends for the way she stopped working with me. I received her efforts immediately with loving forgiveness.

The miracle of reconciliation rises to the top of my gratitude list this morning. I’m happy for her courage and willingness to set things right with me so that frees her from the baggage of guilt. Finishing the unfinished business in one’s life paves the way for new experiences for all involved.

What business do you need to finish? Are you willing to take the courageous steps required? Ki to Happiness makes amends and receives them with Grace.

Friday the 13th

As superstitions go, today’s date brings a warning. Whether it’s related to the power of the number 13 or the significance of the day of the week, certainly at a time when mercury is retrograde it is prudent to be careful with transportation, communication and electronics. Extra care generally helps us heal from fear as we choose safety.

Instead of preparing ourselves for whatever might go wrong in any circumstance, it is uplifting to consider what might go right. By reviewing and reflecting on the feedback we have been receiving from the universe and proceeding with mindfulness, a good outcome of all things is more likely. Imagining a day of love, manifestation, and evolution can empower us in that direction.

What good may come from today? Can you take a moment and imagine a positive outcome manifesting in your world? Ki to Happiness envisions love evolving us all toward the Light.

Facebook Issues

Yesterday morning’s attempt to live stream was thwarted by a Facebook issue. We ruled out other potential sources of the problem: iPad worked, Wi-Fi on, iPhone all charged, T-Mobile with plenty signal. Still, it was hard to not take it personally until another FB friend posted the question “ Is Facebook still broken?”.

For my evening classes, it worked much better. Still not perfect, but I knew that the problem was not operator error. That allowed me to continue to teach without stress.

What helps you depersonalize issues? Without stress, what are you able to accomplish? Ki to Happiness detaches and depersonalizes after taking responsibility for potential errors so to continue to serve, relatively stress free.

Jet City

Boeing continues to hemorrhage workers. The effect in our city is palpable. Since the lengthy strike, and multiple incidences with airplanes being less than safe, this corporation is loosing it status which once led to Seattle’s nickname of Jet City.

The consequences land not just those who work for the giant, but also those in auxiliary companies and trickle down into our students and clients. Especially at this time of the year, it is most unfortunate. Balancing that out, the merger between grocery giants Kroger and Albertsons has been blocked in Washington, so that will bouy up that sector of our economy.

How do you experience the effects of corporate change in your area? Can you feel the interconnection between your resources and these giants? Ki to Happiness is aware of our Oneness.

Epson salt soak

Whenever misalignment or inflammation occurs, I add Epson Salt to my bath. Sometimes it’s just a scoop in my small tub, and otherwise a full treatment dose of an entire bag, always remembering to rinse off afterwards. When necessary, I continue the treatment for three consecutive days, soaking in warm water, not hot, for at least 20 minutes.

Simple home health practices have helped to sustain me. While I soak, I meditate on releasing inflammation throughout my whole body, allowing natural alignment to support my structures. I envision all being well, and imagine being able to serve the One for a long time to come.

Do you have a bathtub? Can you allow yourself to soak in it with Epson salt for 20 minutes? Ki to Happiness soaks out pains, injuries and inflammation while meditating on health, healing and wholeness.
