Distress and DeStress

Students arrived late and distressed. I had some stress in my morning as I attempted to check in for my flight. In the aftermath of the recent computer hack at our airport, systems were still not interfacing.

De-stressing with yoga, a walk in nature after getting checked in worked for me. As I led class, I emphasized exhaling to release the tension. Distress comes when we identify with the stress instead of with our limitless Higher Self as I learned and taught from the Yoga Sutras.

How do you release stress? Can you de-stress without distress? Ki to Happiness identifies with the limitless Higher Self.

Before almost choking to death a month ago, I would have a gaging reaction when I was stressed or nervous. I find that now because of difficulty swallowing my meds, I have it even more. Even wearing a necklace will trigger this feeling of being hit in the throat again. I ask and give gratitude for still being alive. I walk in nature with our dog which helps and will continue asking for help from my higher power. I know depression is thinking of the past and anxiety is thinking of the future. I am working on being in the moment and sleeping a lot. Thanks for lissening.

I’m so glad you are still alive. Thank you for sharing a bit of your distress here. Overtime, may you heal and become free from the residual of your near death experience.
