Marching forth

I love the sound of today’s date. March forth… and conquer! I am doing my best to embody that impulse as I follow Higher Guidance.

Today I am marching forth as I teach both classes, privately work with a new client, continue with my manuscript’s 5th revision and love my choices. With my head held high, my spine, long, and tall, and my heart set on the Everlasting, I intend to freely embody my Highest Self. I encourage each of you, dear readers, to do the same in your own way.

What is the best use of your life force today? Can you March forth and conquer your fears to embody your Highest Guidance? Ki to Happiness marches forth with you on your chosen path if silently, at a distance.

The way he was

When someone we love passes away, like my dad did a month ago, there are those who say they prefer to remember him as he was. In his 97 1/3 years, I am blessed to have known him for over 50 of those years. I feel honored to have known that he WAS lots of different things and ways.

The arc of his lifetime included his privileged beginnings, yet his sweet presence in his last few months of decrepitude were my privilege to behold. Involving myself in his many ways of being enriches my life as I am heir to his stories.

How do you want to be remembered? What does the arc of your life reveal about you? Ki to Happiness has inherited much from witnessing multitudes of ways of being.

50 years

Today is my mom and dad‘s 50 year anniversary. Dad is resting in peace now. Mom continues to live and love.

I asked her once how she has managed to remain married through all the ups and downs. She said one word…stay. That simple wisdom made all the difference I needed to preserve through one of my marriage’s downs.

What one word has made all the difference in your life? How can you stay committed to that which you have vowed? Ki to Happiness stays true to her word.

March

Welcome to the month of March, the only month that has a name which is also a command. Spring is well on its way, as we continue to be immersed in foggy freezing winter chill. Longer hours of sunlight inform our animal nature that warmer temperatures are on their way.

March will bring us the fiery Sun sign of Aries at the Vernal Equinox in 3 weeks. With it, there’ll be plenty of energy to boldly march to the beat of your own drum. We still have time to prepare, and linger a bit more in Pisces blessings of introspection, deep feelings and healings.

In what direction do you wish to March? What insight has the winter brought to you? Ki to Happiness marches toward sharing the blessings from hibernation through Hatha Yoga Center hybrid classes and private sessions.

Peace and quiet

Today and every day I get up early to experience the peace and quiet. Having been blessed with direct experiences of Divinity, I offered my mornings to the Great One decades ago. I’m never disappointed that I did.

My morning practice gives me feedback about my body, mind, emotions and Spirit so I can tune up this instrument I call me. All through the day I play my part in the Symphony of embodiment. Sometimes, I play the silent part and witness the miracles all around me without needing to intervene.

How are accustomed are you to peace and quiet? What practices give you the necessary feedback with which to tune your instrument? Ki to Happiness receives feedback in the peace and quiet of morning Hatha Yoga practices.

Dripping diamonds

The early morning snow dusted the trees, cars, and streets with freshness. As dawn broke, the sunlight illumined the limbs and branches, buds and berries on our street in Pinehurst. By the time the students arrived for class, the roads were clear enough for their safe commute.

As we Saluted the Sun, the snow melted, dripping diamonds of lights everywhere. We stopped to gaze at the magnificence. Natural meditation and gratitude held our attention as we continued to practice at the Hatha Yoga Center.

When does nature make you stop and meditate? How easily do you shift into gratitude for our beautiful world? Ki to Happiness salutes the sun and is awed as the sun seems to salute back.

Winter icicles

Winter icicles

Fall, melt and are forgotten

Followed by beauty

I wrote this haiku when I went just 10 years old. It wasn’t about the weather so much, but about a family issue, finding its resolution. My teacher appreciate it.

It remains with me over a half a century later as I look out to the melting icicles. My heart thaws with my yoga practices as I forgive all that has frozen it’s tender bits. Dripping, I flow with what is, growing stronger and more fluid as I become current.

What do you remember from when you were 10? How is your inner child? Ki to Happiness reMembers.

Power and Powerlessness

On this chilly morning I am grateful for the power company keeping us warm. I’m also aware of my powerlessness to change to the weather, although there are those who seek to do so. They must not have experienced the Higher Power as I have.

In my life, there have been times of deep darkness and experiencing soul chilling atrocities. Through Divine Intervention, I witnessed an all pervading light dispelling darkness which warmed my soul. I am abundantly blessed, and pray for others to awaken to their Higher Power through Divine Intervention in right timing.

Have you experienced the Higher Power by whose grace you’ve come through the dark nights of your soul? Can you thaw the heart from its freezing doubts and warm up to your many blessings, having made it through each and every trial thus far? Ki to Happiness gives thanks for the miracle of life every day by serving the Higher Power in each of us through Hatha Yoga and Holistic Counseling.

Watching with you

Bob and I watched one of our favorite news programs yesterday with a friend at a distance. We synchronized our viewing for a sense of community. It’s so important to stay connected to others, to the news and to our ability to be informed, do research and decide for ourselves.

In doing so we have reason to be hopeful, and to see progress amidst setback. Great experiments in life require that we follow through to learn the results. Consequences revealed in accurate data empower us to make course corrections as we respect others right to do the same, in their own timing.

Are you willing to do your own research? What corrections are required as you live and learn? Ki to Happiness is watching with you.

Sleeping in

After my large late class, it’s hard to turn in. It takes me a little while to calm down and clean up. In delight, I tidy up, put away mats, pick up discarded cups, and get things ready for a new day reflecting on the 20 humans who attended both the 5:30 and 7 pm classes combined.

I tuck myself in and close my eyes. I remember the smiles and the efforts, the issues and the progress as I process. In the morning, the cats still want me up at our regular time so I can feed them, but instead, I sleep in, all the way until 445.

What does sleeping in mean for you? How do your evening activities effect your morning rising? Ki to Happiness prepares each night for morning practices so even when I sleep in, I’m ready to greet the new day with fresh practices and hot water.
