After touring the newly rehabbed Catholic Church with one of Mom‘s friends, I went to a small birthday celebration. It was held at a nearby tavern called Trust Me.  Both are equidistant from Mom‘s home and represents some of the limited options of Mossville.

Returning, I presented Mom with one of the little Jesus statues given to me by one of the birthday guests. It sits by the others on mom’s mantle which she got from her doctor’s office. Together with religious and spiritual icons from all paths, I placed another one and lit my candle as I sat for yoga practice.

Who do you trust? What symbolizes that trust to you? Ki to Happiness trusts the Higher Power, who Guides me wherever I go.

As we enter the beneficial astrological basket, we make use of the energy catapulting us forward. Mars sextile Saturn propels us into our choices. De-escalation from aggression, bullying, taking sides, or ganging up on others demonstrates that those efforts are ineffective and no big deal.

Calming oneself with practices and prayers, perspective is gained. Every effort toward harmony and unity helps All. Taking action in peaceful purpose as intended requires attention, and focus with persistence, consistence and gratitude daily, like every day, no big deal.

What big deal would you like to de-escalate? Can you use the energy to proceed with purpose toward the One? Ki to Happiness chooses peace, saying “no big deal” to those who would attempt to disrupt it.

I redid my profile picture to upload an image of myself when we got back from Mom‘s birthday dinner. My three dollar consignment shop dress from last October finally had a chance to be worn to the loveliest restaurant in town. Mom’s miraculous healing from her colon cancer surgery gave us all reason to be especially festive.

I put the glove-like dress on my healthy, strong yogic body, careful not to trip on the train wearing heels. Compliments and attention from the restaurant staff, the other guests, and those who see my posts all prompt this blog. Practicing yoga, shopping 2nd hand and celebrating in style are some of the many things I’ve learned to do from my mother.

What’s your best three dollar find?  What have you learned from your mother that influences your daily life? Ki to Happiness celebrates many life lessons daily in yoga practice, often wearing other people’s clothes.

At the conclusion of mom‘s birthday dinner, we drove home in bliss. She said she wasn’t sure if she was alive or dead because she felt like she was in heaven. I reassured her that she is quite alive, in heaven on earth.

We each experience these beneficial stars in different ways, depending upon our choices. When we choose peace, we must continue with intention, attention, and focus. As we do, the present opens to us, revealing the heavenly gift within.

We celebrate my mother‘s birthday today. Not just our tiny family and intimate friends, but the whole world has a chance to celebrate. Astrologically, we are in a portal of rebirth, re-launch, and an invitation to realize the highest possibility of peace on earth.

On and off the yoga mat, we are able to choose wisely daily. And yet with these beneficial stars in place, creative potential and revisioning humanity as one global family working together is cradled in Cosmic support. It is a great day to uplevel our consciousness personally and collectively.

Today’s New Moon takes place in the sign of Cancer. It occurs during mercury retrograde. This combination encourages us to set clear intentions regarding home, health and hearth after reflecting on them internally.

Each of us experiences these astrological and astronomical events differently, and yet the collective energy encourages us to feel our heart’s truest longing. Setting clear boundaries, honoring present limitations, stating such clearly can facilitate movement toward fulfillment. Quietude is required to settle all that has been stirred in the last lunar cycle for this next new now moment to work Its magic.

What is required for you to feel at home? What boundaries will help you honor your limitations so that you can be healthy? Ki to Happiness fulfills her deepest longing in the quietude of going to the home in her heart with yoga practice.

Mom’s birthday party was a fabulous success thanks to so many who pitched in. An abundance of love, food, drink, and music was had by all. We boxed up several items for folks to take away.

As the pasta salad, teriyaki chicken skewers, cupcakes, and bottled water make their way to their respective homes, memories of our time together will be spread out to Missouri, Indiana, and Texas.  Plenty will accompany my good friend to her brother-in-law‘s funeral preparations. The greatest take away is that together, we love life and help one another near and far, friends old and new, family of origin and creation.

What do you take away from gatherings? How far can you spread the loving joy of togetherness? Ki to Happiness takes away all that has been given, knowing that giving and receiving are One in Truth.

All the preparation and planning have led up to this day. We are about to host mom‘s birthday bash. The weather is perfect, she is healthy and in good spirits, and all is in place.

My early morning practice reminds me of the poem from Saint Teresa of Avila. She wrote that after a night of prayer and meditation, “laughter came from every brick”. Instead of carrying burdens, she received the guidance from her Lord to “Enjoy Me”.

What burden do you need to set down? Can you hear the laughter coming from every brick, every tree, every flower, every blade of grass…? Ki to Happiness remembers to Enjoy.

Now that I’m home with Mom, I am free of all the preparation and anticipation. She is miraculously healing and doing well post surgery. I am full of gratitude for all who have helped.

As we sat visiting, we talked about all manner of deep and superficial topics, weaving in and out of our hearts’ desire for expression. The topic of one of Mom’s dear friends came up as he has been failing in his health. Just as we said our good nights, Mom got a text that he passed away, home free at last.

How free do you feel? What does home mean to you? Ki to Happiness feels free at home in her heart.

On the suggestion of a quantum physicist whose podcast has in inspired me, I’ve started asking “ how good can it get?” upon arising. Doing so yesterday, my travel day concluded with my safe arrival at my host’s house for my one night here. My brother had already arrived with his two kittens to socialize.

My hosts have three cats who interacted with the little tiny ones. We humans chatted, petted, and played with them. Just imagine a travel day during mercury retrograde having been fraught with the inability to save a spot through spot saver, challenges checking in and getting a boarding pass, and a delayed flight, concluding with cats and kittens, family and friends, hugs and kisses all around.
